Who We Serve

At Sage Health Care:

We serve people of all ages and we provide confidential evaluations and treatment backed by the highest level of training in our respective field. Our providers are sensitive to the cultural, religious, and ethnic background of our patients.

Sage offers competitive rates and friendly service. We accept clients through professional and self–referrals.

Our Mission

At Sage Health Care:

We provide compassionate care and knowledgeable consultation to our patients, their families and our community.  Through coordinated teamwork and thoughtful understanding of each individual patient and their unique circumstances. We will constantly strive to deliver sound, confidential and respectful medical and psychotherapeutic education and treatment.

At Sage Health Care we provide the highest quality of efficient, full spectrum, medical and behavioral health services.  We have created a complete array of services designed to meet the needs of the community with the highest standards of care available in these areas:

Individual, Family and Group Therapy:

The goal of our therapists are to be the best therapist the patient requires; consequently, our therapists provide a variety of therapy approaches.  The following are some of these therapy approaches:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Adlerian Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness EMDR

  • Mindfulness Therapy

New Patient Consultation:

During a patient’s first visit with a psychiatric provider (MD, NP or PA), the provider will conduct a diagnostic interview exam in which he or she will review the patient’s psychiatric treatment history, health and family history, and current symptoms and concerns. Treatment options will be discussed with the patient and collaboratively an initial treatment plan will be established.

On-Call Services:

Many of our providers perform on-call services for the psychiatric facilities and hospitals in Boise and surrounding areas.  Being on-call means the physician will be available to the contracted facilities and hospitals to admit a patient.

Medication Management:

Follow-up visits will occur with an established patient as often as dictated by the patient’s treatment plan. Earlier appointments may be scheduled if desired by the patient or if there is a change in symptoms.  During a medication management appointment, the psychiatric provider will evaluate the patient and evaluate if any changes in medication is needed along with renewing any needed prescriptions.  This visit may or may not include psychotherapy.

Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitalization:

If a patient’s symptoms worsen to the point they no longer are able to maintain daily functioning or he or she becomes suicidal to the point it is difficult to manage on an outpatient basis, the psychiatric provider will recommend hospitalization.  Most of all the psychiatrists practicing within Sage are contracted at the psychiatric hospitals in and around Boise so they are able to admit a patient if needed.

Once a patient is in the hospital, the admit doctor or attending physician will follow the patient’s hospital care.  Someone from our medical team, which consists of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners will also see the patient while they are hospitalized to conduct a History and Physical examination.  The History and Physical together with the inpatient initial psychiatric evaluation will be use in evaluating treatment for the patient.

Forensic Evaluations:

Forensic evaluations are comprehensive psychological evaluations performed by one of our psychiatrist (currently either Dr. Novak or Dr. Negron).  Our psychiatrist will receive an overview of the case by legal counsel.  Once the psychiatrist agrees to be retained by the legal firm, our psychiatrist will provide an objective and comprehensive evaluation and give expert witness testimony on particular areas of their expertise.

Dr. Novak and Dr. Negron have developed their expertise by not only being a psychiatrist for many years but also have completed numerous forensic evaluations with a variety of forensic issues.

TMS Therapy

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve, and sometimes eliminate, the symptoms of depression. TMS is helpful and effective when other forms of depression treatments haven't worked. TMS is a non-invasive, non-systemic treatment that has been shown to have far greater results than any drug prescribed for depression. In short, TMS is a life-changing therapy that has helped countless lives. Sage Health Care is partnered with TMS Solutions and we are excited to provide TMS Therapy at our clinic.

72.45% of TMS Solutions' clinical patients have a response rate with a reduction in symptoms of greater than 50%.

42.86% of our patients receive complete remission. Find out if TMS can help you.

TMS Therapy is covered by all insurance and Medicare
