Biography
Dr. Charles Novak, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist who has been in private practice in Boise, Idaho for the last 34 years. He is a founding member and owner of Sage Health Care, PLLC, the largest physician owned psychiatric group practice in Idaho.
Dr. Novak is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, a past President of the Idaho Psychiatric Association and past president of the medical staff of St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho. Dr. Novak has been medical director of the 2 largest psychiatric hospitals in Southwest Idaho, is presently the medical director of the Allumbaugh House (a non-profit health crisis center in Boise), and has been an active hospital based psychiatric clinician in the Boise community for the entirety of his career.
Dr. Novak has been honored twice with the Exemplary Psychiatrist of the Year Award by the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill, continues to be active in his advocacy for the severe and persistently mentally ill, and continues involved with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare as they work to advance and improve the public services provided to those most in need of basic behavioral health care services.
